Welcome to UNIFIL .ie This website is intended to be a celebration of the highs and lows, the triumphs and the disasters
that have befallen members of the Irish Defence Forces over the last 30 years, through their invlovement with the
United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon.

Irish Troops have for many years been involved in the very dangerous task of Peace Keeping in some of the worlds most dangerous places. Lebanon is one of those hot-spots, and IRISHBATT have suffered many casualties over the years. Soldiers from all over Ireland have served with UNIFIL, and most people would know at least one person who served in "The Leb".

Irish troops have been involved with UNIFIL since it started first in 1978. Ireland has a long and proud record of helping to bring peace to some of the worlds hottest hot-spots.
