Anyone whoever stepped out of line while serving in The Leb might recognise this place. This is Gallows Green, the Irish MP Detachment's base, located just outside of Tibnin. Mick Clinton is on Duty.

Here we have a picture taken at Qatar, a Panhard APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) pays a visit to a UN Post. Henry Brady is in the turret of the APC, while on Sentry duty on the rooftop is Mickey Duddy.

Tadhg McGinley and Henry Brady at Post 6-35... If anyone can tell me where 6-35 was, please do and I will fill in the details.

Terry McGinley is seen here at Position 6-17a. This position was located just off the main square in Brashit Village and was overlooked by Post 6-17, which was known at the CO's House. This Checkpoint was the scene of a lot of trouble and strife between different factions and the Irish over the years.

When you first arrive in South Lebanon, one of the first things that hits you is the buildings. Going back to biblical times, the houses in this part of the world typically had flat roof's. Some things never change. This image shows was taken from the roof of the CO's House, which was located at the side of the main square in Brashit Village, and shows a local woman on the flat roof of her house.

Henry Brady on the left is using the Handset of a Wireless Radio Transciever. These sets were used to maintain communications between Company HQ and the various Outposts under its control. Also in the picture is Doc Doherty.

Here we see some of the members of the Galway Platoon getting the chance to unwind in the Wet Canteen.

A view of the Guard House at At-Tiri.

This photo was taken on Christmas Day 1983. In the words of Henry Brady (on Left) "Its not a great picture but it shows off my haircut"... It certainly does that Henry... Mickey Duddy and Sean Ryan arent looking too happy either. Could the barber still be on the prowel???

Same guy, different Checkpoint. Seems like Henry Brady was never off duty while serving with the 54th Infantry Battalion.

This photo was also taken at the UN Post at At-Tiri and shows Martin Coughlan (2nd from Right) and John Murphy.

Keeping the tradition. Its Christmas Day in the Leb and Capt. ?? Ryan puts his "Waiting" skills to the test. It has been done for many years in the Army that the officers serve Christmas dinner to the troops.

Christmas was never like this at home in Ireland. These guys were the lucky ones. Christmas day for a soldier serving with the UNITED NATIONS in Lebanon is like any other, the same duties and patrols still need to be done. For those lucky enough to be off, its great to enjoy your Christmas dinner with your friends.

Henry Brady in UN Whites, having just arrived back in the A.O. (Area of Operations) after a 60 Hour Pass. This photo was taken on the roof of the CO's House in Brashit. Tommy Clarke is catching a few rays in the background.

This picture was taken not terribly lonh after the one above. This time Henry Brady is dressed for the long journey from the hills of South Lebanon back home, following a six month tour of duty with UNIFIL.
